Audio-visual materials
may be requested through any Jefferson Parish Library. You
may place Holds (requests) yourself, on catalog terminals
at the library or on a home computer. Certain new titles
are exempt from Holds and are available only if on shelf.

Video titles include extensive
fiction and nonfiction holdings. DVDs are available all libraries. The fiction section consists of popular,
classic and foreign titles. The nonfiction section contains
large subject collections in history, music, nature, science,
sports and travel. Other nonfiction categories include art,
biography, business, comedy, computers, dance, environment,
film studies, health, home improvement, language, literature,
military studies, opera, parenting, photography, psychology,
religion, social issues, theater and transportation.
The audio collection consists
of compact discs and audiocassettes. The major audio holdings
are classical, jazz and rock music, and spoken word audio.
Other types of music in the collection include international,
new age, gospel, musicals, movie and TV soundtracks and
holiday music.
The major area of non-musical holdings
is the audiobooks collection, containing mainly unabridged
titles from leading audiobook publishers. It includes popular
and classic fiction titles, and nonfiction subjects such
as history, biography, business and education.
